2011 Review

Written by Richelle Kinzie - President on . Posted in ASR News & Press Releases

2011 was a year of growth for ASR! We added over 100 new clients in North America and another 200+ Internationally.
Our North American family has grown to 500+ clients with 600+ certifications. Worldwide we have over 1700 certifications. You can view your certification status at www.iaar.org.

Our talented pool of auditors changed during 2011. Several auditors experienced health issues and reduced their audit
days. Two auditors took positions in industry and one auditor died unexpectedly. We added 5 new auditors in North America and over 10 Internationally. We are continuing to look for competent auditors for all standards and this is one of our top goals as we head into 2012! Kudos to our current staff of auditors for stepping up to the plate to ensure all our clients were taken care of in 2011. Auditors worked Saturdays, gave up vacation days, and are working during Christmas and New Years to make sure the audits get done. We really appreciate all their extra auditing efforts!

Thanks to you, our clients, for all your help and patience in 2011! In the true spirit of partnership, you worked with us to reschedule audits so other clients could be accommodated. You held our feet to the fire when audit schedules were
delayed or audit reports were not timely, but you also told us when we exceeded your expectations! IT'S ALL ABOUT
IMPROVEMENT!

Staff changes included the retirement of Ruthann Schultz. Ruthann scheduled all the audits for North America. Many of
you have already met her replacement, Julie Aman, via telephone. Ruthann will still be around to assist ASR with projects when needed on a part-time basis. Jessica DeVries, that pleasant voice that answers our phones, moved to full-time last January. Jessica's responsibilities include notifying you of your upcoming audit via e-mail, sending out customer support manuals, processing registration paperwork and making accounts payable calls. We are currently interviewing for a Quality Manager to take over the auditor management function. Hiring, evaluating, and training of our auditors as well as handling the oversight audits from ANAB and the IATF!

What to expect in 2012 - a greater emphasis on better root cause and corrective action. The level of acceptable root cause and corrective action has changed. Not only for our clients but also for what the oversight bodies expect from ASR. Auditos will continue to reject poorly written root cause and corrective actions for all standards. ASR has invested in the development of a web based training program on this topic. We expect to release this program to our clients in the first quarter of 2012. The initial release will be free for all current ASR clients.

Our clients are growing! Over 40% of our clients experienced employee increases in the 2nd half of 2011 and we expect this to continue in 2012! Be sure to let us know prior to your audit when increases or decreases occur.

Please do not hesitate to contact ASR at any time. If you have technical or general questions, or are looking for a reference or want to discuss a finding or requirement, we are here for you! We know most of you by name and enjoy having the opportunity to stay connected!

Best Wishes for the New Year!
