audit-risk-QMS2013 Audit Update for IATF

Effective October 1, 2013 the IATF (International Automotive Task Force) released updated audit rules that will greatly impact third-party audits of automotive suppliers. See the AIAG web site to obtain a copy of Rules 4th Edition.

The IATF contends that suppliers holding an ISO/TS 16949 certificate should be held to a higher standard and they are directing certification bodies to strengthen their audits.

Some of the more impactful changes to TS certified clients relate to site extensions, shift auditing and audit planning.

ASR personnel are slated to attend a rollout of the new rules in the next several weeks. Following the rollout workshop, ASR will share with clients the entire package of changes as well as audit expectations.
